Making Sense of the Cross by David Lose – 2013 Lenten Study
Take a journey this Lent and, through worship and group study, explore the cross of Jesus. We’ll explore questions like “Did Jesus really have to die?”; “Does the cross really matter?”; and “What does the cross say about God?” Attend worship on Wednesday nights during Lent and join in on the discussion that follows at any of these times:
• Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., 6:15 p.m., or 8:00 p.m. (Note: Eighth- and ninth-grade confirmation students and high-school youth will be meeting at 8:00 p.m. for abbreviated group discussion time.)
• Thursdays at 12:00 or 6:30 p.m.
• Saturdays at 4:30 p.m.
• Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
• Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m.
No prior knowledge is needed, just curiosity and a desire to explore this topic more deeply. Be sure to register for the study group that works best with your schedule – see the table in the Gathering Area for more details on each of the options. Encourage your friends to sign up with you – we look for a minimum of five participants per group. Books can be purchased at the Welcome Center for $10 (cash or check, please). Get yours early – we have a limited number in stock!
