Pastoral Care

Each pastor at Peace provides pastoral support and care. Intern Pastor Renae coordinates the efforts of the pastoral team in its supportive role. Pastoral care involves individual support, family support, and visitation of members who are hospitalized or shut in, as well as referrals to community agencies for ongoing support and care.

When you are hospitalized, your church family wants to be there to help you through the healing process and bring God’s comfort.

Peace Lutheran’s pastors share responsibility for calling area hospitals and checking for members who are hospitalized. Patients need to give the hospital permission to be on a list that is accessible to pastors by a special code. However, it occasionally happens that even if you provide permission to the hospital, your name may not be properly entered into its database.  This often happens when persons are admitted through the emergency room.

To assure a pastoral visit, be sure to call the church office – 361-3683 – with the information. Because of privacy laws, the call should be made by the patient, a family member, or a hospital staff member. If you wish to be included in the prayers of the church during worship, this will be clarified by a pastoral visit.

When an emergency occurs outside of regular business hours, call the church office – 361-3683 – and leave a message for an individual pastor.
