Peace Lutheran offers a number of support groups, some of which are a direct ministry of the church and others that meet at Peace on a regular basis. Often it is those who have similar experiences who are best able to listen to and offer care to others who are faced with challenges.

Tuesday Support Groups

Peace is offering monthly (4-6 weeks at a time) rotating support groups on Tuesday evenings here at the church. These support groups will be led by a variety of our own lay leaders, Stephen Ministers, Faith Formation Directors, and pastors alike. Including familiar series like Grief Group, Divorce Care, and Cancer & Chronic Illness Support, we hope to provide a regular rhythm of community in Christ who can walk alongside you through our various challenges. Everyone is welcome to attend, including guests and friends of Peace!

If you’re feeling called to be part of hosting or facilitating one of our support groups in a leadership role, please contact Pastor Alex (pastoralex@peacelutheran.com) or Pastor Elizabeth (pastorelizabeth@peacelutheran.com) for more information and training.

Grief Support Group

Tuesdays | 6:00-8:00pm
January 9-30, 2024

Grief Support Group will continue the foundation from Grief Group (Holidays) with a new session on “Everyday Grief”.

Join the pastors, Peace staff, and Stephen Ministry team for a four week series of 2-hour sessions on processing our grief during everyday life after the holidays. Everyone is welcome to attend; whether this is your first time at Grief Group or a return after many seasons of conversation.

Register online and mark your calendars for Tuesdays at 6:00-8:00pm in the Shalom Room from January 9-30.

February’s Tuesday Support Group will be Cancer & Chronic Illness Support.

PeaceMeals

PeaceMeals is a ministry of the congregation that helps provide a meal for individuals or families who need some extra care - new baby, death in the family, illness or hospitalization, etc. You can be a part of this ministry in any of the following ways:

  • Take a meal to an individual, couple, or family who could use some extra care. They’re available in the Peace Meals freezer in the  Coffee Corner (in the Gathering Area). Instructions are posted on the freezer.

  • Help prepare meals to restock the freezer. Watch the newsletter and/or bulletin for upcoming Peace Meals Prep sessions.

  • Donate canned fruits or vegetables - Donations can be left in the church office (labeled for Peace Meals) or placed on top of the Peace Meals Freezer in the Coffee Corner.

  • Donate homemade desserts - Drop off at the church office during weekdays or put in the Peace Meals freezer on the bottom shelf. Please put items in freezer-safe bags or containers and label what the items are.

Pastors and members alike can give out Peace Meals! If you have someone in mind, stop by the church office and ask how to find yours.

Any questions can be directed to Holly@peacelutheran.com

Prayer Shawl Group

The Peace Prayer Shawl Ministry is a small group of women who turn their love of knitting and crocheting into a prayer ministry for the benefit of members of Peace Lutheran Church. Occurs on the third Tuesday every month from 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Emmaus Table.

Peaceful Stampers

This card-making and paper-crafting group meets the third Sunday of each month at 1:00pm in the Shalom Room to create beautiful ways to show our love and support for one another. Cards are given to members and people in the community needing a pick-me-up and reminder that someone is thinking of them.

Recovery Groups

Peace Lutheran offers a number of recovery groups that meet at Peace on a regular basis. Often it is those who have similar experiences who are best able to listen to and offer care to others who are faced with challenges. Please see our Recovery Groups page to get meeting times and information.
